The National Weather Service (NWS) in Jackson is forecasting a nasty day across portions of Louisiana and Mississippi, including likely tornadoes and golf ball-sized hail in Warren County.
“Significant severe thunderstorms are likely today into tonight,” NWS said. “Tornadoes are likely, with some possibly strong and long-tracked, damaging wind gusts of 70 to 80 mph and large hail up to golf ball size.”
NWS said storms are most likely in Warren County from late morning through Saturday night.
“Multiple rounds of storms are possible, with an earlier round from daybreak through mid-afternoon, before a later round moves from west to east from mid-afternoon to around midnight. Have multiple ways of accessing severe weather information and remain weather aware today!”
