We have reached Week 11 of the college football season and are getting closer to the finish line. The first edition of the College Football Playoff ranking has come out, giving each game moving forward just a little more meaning.
There are a bunch of really good games this weekend but which are the best ones? Here at Newsweek Sports, we have you covered.
Here are the top five much-watch games for this weekend’s slate of matchups.
After a slow start to the year, the Tigers have come on strong. Dabo Swinney’s group has found their footing a little and Clemson is coming to make a late-season push for the playoff.
They have a fairly winnable schedule down the stretch but this game in Blacksburg will be a test. The Virginia Tech fanbase is one of the best so the Tigers will need to be careful of an upset.
The Buffalos are 6-2 on the season and have a chance to do something special if they can continue their success. Despite all the outside noise going on with them, the Buffalos have put their heads down and just played football.
Heading into Lubbock will be a challenge as the Red Raiders will get up for this game. But if they can start fast and quiet the fans, it could be a good week for Colorado.
This rivalry game will have a little different feel to it this time around as the Cougars are the top team entering the game. BYU is still undrafted on the year as they head to Salt Lake City for this matchup.
The Utes would love nothing more than to be the first team to hand them a loss but BYU is a strong team. They won’t go down without a fight and one of the better rivalries in college football will be great to watch.
This could be the game of the weekend but it comes in second because both teams have been so inconsistent. Some weeks LSU looks like a team that could contend for a title while others, they fall extremely flat.
The same goes with the Crimson Tide but a win over Georgia has kept them alive in the race. Whoever wins this game will have a great chance to reach the playoff and bragging rights are on the line in this rivalry game.
The Bulldogs have had some close calls this season as they head into Oxford to take on the Rebels. Ole Miss can still make the playoff if they can win some games like this one so they will be ready for the challenge.
Georgia has looked very good in the second half of games so it will be up to the Rebels to make adjustments throughout. We could be looking at a fun matchup if Ole Miss can match the energy level early on.
