Four of the biggest names in golf will converge on MGM’s Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas for The Crypto.com Showdown.
Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau will team up to challenge Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler. The event tees off on Dec. 17 at 6 p.m. ET, with coverage on TNT, TBS, truTV and Max’s B/R Sports Add-On.
The Crypto.com Showdown is split into three different parts that will determine the winner. The first six holes utilize best ball rules. Alternate shot follows on the next six holes. Singles will close out the proceedings on the last six.
Some familiar voices will be in the booth, with TNT Sports’ Ernie Johnson and Charles Barkley on commentary. Trevor Immelman, David Feherty, Bubba Watson and Lauren Jbara will contribute as well.
Scheffler heads to Las Vegas after the best season of his career. He had seven wins, which included his second Masters title and a triumph in the Tour Championship to close out the campaign. The 28-year-old added a gold medal from the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris to his overall haul.
Whereas this is Scheffler’s first foray into a TNT Sports golf event, the trio of DeChambeau, Koepka and McIlroy all have experience in similar competitions.
DeChambeau and Aaron Rodgers combined to beat Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady in The Match IV in 2021. Later that year, however, he came up short in a head-to-head battle with rival Koepka in what has been Koepka’s only appearance so far. McIlroy took part in The Match IX, besting Lexi Thompson, Max Homa and Rose Zhang.
