Week 15 in the NFL kicks off with a classic “loser leaves town” game in the NFC West as the Los Angeles Rams take on the San Francisco 49ers. Both teams are fighting for their playoff lives as they trail the Seattle Seahawks (8-5) for the division lead and the Washington Commanders (8-5) for the Conference’s third Wild Card spot.
Each squad is also coming off big wins last week. The Rams (7-6) pulled off a major upset, taking down the Buffalo Bills 44-42, while the 49ers (6-7) had a dominant 38-13 victory over the Chicago Bears to end a three-game losing streak.

San Francisco’s defense will get a boost as linebacker Dre Greenlaw is making his season debut after tearing an Achilles in last year’s Super Bowl. However, I think that’s too little, too late as the 49ers haven’t looked good this season. Also, Trent Williams is out so the Rams’ pass rush should be able to feast on Brock Purdy. Plus, Los Angeles is hot right now with six wins in its last eight games and the team should have plenty of confidence after getting a big ‘W’ on Sunday.
For the injury report, the Rams have ruled cornerback Cobie Durant (chest) and tight end Tyler Higbee (knee) out. In addition to Williams (ankle), the 49ers will be without guard Ben Bartch (ankle) and safety Malik Mustapha (chest, shoulder).
