Following multiple anonymous tips, 22 suspects were arrested on suspicion of illegal gambling, narcotics possession and firearm violations in South Los Angeles, police announced Monday.
The arrests were made after a search warrant was served on Thursday around 8 p.m. at 10122 S. Figueroa St., one block south of Century Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Investigators discovered gambling machines and narcotics while two firearms were recovered following the search by Southeast Area Vice Unit officers, with the assistance of Narcotics Enforcement Detail personnel, along with other investigators from the 77th Vice, Harbor Vice, Southwest Vice, and Southeast Patrol units, police said.
The following individuals, all Los Angeles residents, were arrested for offenses that included illegal gambling, narcotics possession, and firearm violations:
— Rafael Casanova, 35, Dunia Perdomo-Martinez, 36, and Mayra Serrano were arrested on suspicion of crimes related to illegal gambling;
— Noe Cabrera, 30, and Carolyn Serrano, 31, were arrested on suspicion of narcotics possession;
— Magic Brook, 39, and Tamarra Johnson, 42, were arrested on suspicion of being convicted felons in possession of a firearm;
The other 15 arrestees were given citations and released from custody
