Tiger Woods got his family by his side as he teed his way to snatch the runner-up title at the PNC Championship.
The golf legend was surrounded by his family and loved ones who cheered him and his son, Charlie, on as they played 18 holes as a father/son duo.
Tiger Woods reunited with his ex-wife, Erin Nordegren, at the family tournament 15 years after their messy divorce.
The athlete finished runner-up at the tournament alongside his 15-year-old son. The tournament was a strictly family affair, as his 17-year-old daughter, Sam, also served as Tiger and Charlie’s caddy.
Tiger appeared dapper in his red and black ensemble as he opened his arms to welcome an old friend/partner. The professional golfer exchanged pleasantries with his former wife, Nordegren, who looked stunning in a white, lightweight jacket and navy baseball hat.
The model also greeted her kids as they walked off the field on Sunday, pulling the legendary golfer in for a warm embrace. From the video uploaded on the Golf on CBS Instagram page, Nordegren was seen hugging Tiger and giving him a pat on the back before turning her attention to their kids.
The former couple met in 2001 and tied the knot three years later. Things then took the wrong turn in 2009 after the athlete was caught having multiple affairs.
Over 10 women came forward with accusations of infidelity, prompting the legend to enter into a treatment facility for sex addiction. Tiger and Nordegren eventually finalized their divorce in August 2010 but have since developed a cordial coparenting relationship.
The duo is often spotted at Charlie’s games, and they recently came together for his state championship ring ceremony in March. Tiger analyzed their co-parenting dynamic during a 2015 Time interview, referring to Nordegren as one of his “best friends.”
“We’re able to pick up the phone, and we talk to each other all the time,” he declared. “We both know that the most important things in our lives are our kids.”
Nordegren had since moved on with former NFL player Jordan Cameron in 2017. Tiger also returned to the dating scene and dated restaurant manager Erica Herman from 2017-2022, per Page Six.
Charlie was serious about filling his father’s big shoes! The Blast shared in February that the PGA Tour announced on its website that the 15-year-old will participate in a PGA Tour pre-qualifier.
If he won, he would compete in the Cognizant Classic in Florida from February 29 to March 3. The teenager was scheduled to play at Lost Lake Golf Club in Hobe Sound, Florida, one of four pre-qualifying sites for the Classic.
To register for a PGA Tour pre-qualifier, players must maintain a handicap index of 2 or better — a requirement that Charlie reportedly fulfilled with a +3 handicap index with the Florida State Golf Association.
The younger Woods was scheduled to tee off at 7:39 a.m. ET with Olin Browne Jr. — the son of three-time TOUR winner Olin Browne — and Ruaidhri McGee.
Last weekend’s event was not the first time Charlie and his father engaged in a professional match-off. The 15-year-old has previously teamed up with Tiger in the two-player PNC Championship, where teams consist of a major champion and a family member.
The iconic father-son duo reportedly secured a second-place finish in the event, similar to their current placing at the just concluded PNC Championship.
Young Charlie previously showcased his skills in last fall’s Notah Begay III Junior Golf National Championship, with his dad serving as his caddie for all 54 holes.
Charlie finished T17 in the Boys 14-15 division with an impressive final-round score of 68. He also qualified for the event by posting rounds of 71-66 at a September qualifier in Florida.
Tiger made a crucial business decision a month before word spread about his son’s bold move to compete on the PGA Tour. The legendary golfer, whose partnership with the fashion brand began nearly 30 years ago, took to X to announce the end of their working relationship.
“Over 27 years ago, I was fortunate to start a partnership with one of the most iconic brands in the world. The days since have been filled with so many amazing moments and memories, if I started naming them, I could go on forever,” he began.
The golfing legend also paid homage to the brains behind Nike’s immense progress over the years, saying:
“Phil Knight’s passion and vision brought this Nike and Nike Golf partnership together, and I want to personally thank him, along with the Nike employees and incredible athletes I have had the pleasure of working with along the way.”
He concluded his statement with a glimpse into his future plans, writing: “People will ask if there is another chapter. Yes, there will certainly be another chapter. See you in LA!”
Tiger Woods is undoubtedly super proud of Charlie’s accomplishments!
