This year’s edition of the NBA 2K video game, NBA 2K25, is set to release in early September. With that just a week or so away now, the rankings and ratings of the top 100 NBA players to be featured in the game have been slowly coming out over the past days. A number of Philadelphia 76ers have found their names among the list.
The top 10 overall were finally revealed Monday morning on the The Old Man and the Three podcast’s YouTube channel.
The highest ranked Sixer is, as expected, Joel Embiid. The big man was ranked No. 5 in the league with a 96 overall rating (OVR). Despite being hampered by injuries and only appearing in 39 games this past season, Embiid averaged a massive 34.7 points, 11.0 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game when he was on the floor.
Embiid also held a 96 overall rating in 2K24 (after his MVP season in 2023-24), as well as in 2K23. Not bad for a guy that had a 77 OVR for 2K15.
Only Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic rank higher than Embiid.
The entire top 10 (and their overall ratings in the upcoming game) was revealed as follows:
10. Anthony Davis (94 OVR)
9. Kevin Durant (94 OVR)
8. Jayson Tatum (95 OVR)
7. Steph Curry (95 OVR)
6. Lebron James (95 OVR)
5. Joel Embiid (96 OVR)
4. SGA (96 OVR)
3. Giannis (97 OVR)
2. Luka Doncic (97 OVR)
1. Nikola Jokic (97 OVR)
Two other Philadelphia teammates’ names appeared in the 30-21 ranks: young star guard Tyrese Maxey (rank 26, 89 OVR), and league veteran Paul George (rank 24, 89 OVR).
The Sixers notably also have a few of the top ranked rookies for the upcoming edition of 2K. Jared McCain (16th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft) will have a 70 overall rating, and Adem Bona (41st overall pick) will have a 69 OVR.
NBA 2K25 is set to release on Sept. 6.
