Three riders selected for Saratoga for the National Museum of Racing’s Media Honor Roll.
Three people, including one with prominent local ties, have been selected to the National Museum of Racing’s Joe Hirsch Media Roll of Honor.
Tim Layden, Ed Schuyler Jr. and the late Edwin Pope have been selected to the National Museum of Racing’s Joe Hirsch Media Roll of Honor for their outstanding coverage of horse racing.
Layden is from Whitehall and worked as a reporter at the Schenectady Gazette and the Times Union. He spent 25 years as a senior writer for Sports Illustrated, where he covered 14 Olympic Games, three Super Bowls, and other major events in addition to thoroughbred racing.
He works for the NBC Sports Group.
