ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WTVY) – Three Enterprise grocery stores involved in a sting operation earlier this year were identified by the Coffee County District Attorney’s Office on Monday.
In May, officials conducted operation “Project Las Vegas” to shut down illegal gambling at multiple locations in Enterprise.
Police seized over a dozen gambling machines and nearly $16,000 from the businesses involved in the operation, but the businesses remained unnamed until now.
Gambling machines and money were seized from the Las Flores Mexican Store, La Tienda Tortilleria Chapin, and El Paisano Supermarket #2.
The money and machines were forfeited to the State.

With the lack of regulation on gambling in Alabama, Enterprise Police Chief Michael Moore said people who are using these machines are basically giving away money.
“They’re not regulated, they’re not governed, they’ve got a payout they can change just at the click of a button, push a button to make it not pay as often or not pay as much,” said Chief Moore. “It’s a scam if anything.”
