District One high school football: North Penn, CB South, CB West video
CB South, CB West and North Penn looked to advance to the District One Class 6A championship game. Check out action from Week 13 playoff games.
Central Bucks South defensive end Eddie Bowen, North Penn defensive end Aidan Eves and Lansdale Catholic linebacker Chris Ulmer will represent Pennsylvania in the Big 33 Football Classic.
The three were among the players announced to participate in the annual game against the top seniors from Maryland. This year’s contest is set for May 25 at Cumberland Valley’s Chapman Field (7:30 p.m. kickoff).
Bowen was a big part of the Titans’ superb defense, accumulating 75 tackles, including team-highs in tackles for loss (18.5) and he set the single-season school record in sacks with 12. CB South allowed 7.6 points per game, which was the lowest in the state among Class 6A schools, and won a school-best 12 games in a row.
Bowen, who also played some fullback, was named the 2024 Courier Times/Intelligencer Defensive Player of the Year. He had two sacks and a tackle for loss in a district playoff victory over Plymouth Whitemarsh. Bowen committed to Division I Marist.
Eves contributed 71 tackles, including 18 for loss, and eight sacks for the District One 6A finalist Knights. As a tight end, he caught 26 passes for 432 yards and five touchdowns.
Eves, who committed to Division I Sacred Heart, excelled in North Penn’s 21-19 district semifinal win over CB South. He had an interception, a forced fumble that he recovered, caught a touchdown pass from junior quarterback Matt Bucksar and recovered an onside kick to seal the verdict.
Ulmer led the Philadelphia Catholic League with 108 tackles, including 16 for loss. He also had two sacks and two forced fumbles. Ulmer registered a career-high 19 tackles in LC’s state quarterfinal loss to Riverside.
Doylestown’s Ulmer, who committed to Monmouth University, was named to the Pennsylvania Sports Writers Class 2A all-state team.
