It’s always stunning when an athlete who is the best at their craft decides to walk away — even when you see it coming. That’s how it felt this week when Diana Taurasi announced she was hanging up her sneakers.
Taurasi’s potential retirement has been a topic of conversation for months, even before she won yet another Olympic gold medal with Team USA last summer in Paris. Still, when you sit back and read about her accomplishments, which Ben Pickman and Chantel Jennings did such a wonderful job of outlining — here and here — you can’t help but marvel at the impact left by the 42-year-old.
Taurasi was such an influential force in basketball that we had to include her in this week’s quiz, so you would be wise to read those stories linked above before you start.
Have fun, and while you’re at it make sure you play our daily Connections: Sports Edition.
Good luck!
