Job hunting this year? South Burlington is one of the best places to do it, according to a new study.
Personal finance company WalletHub just released its list of best cities for jobs in 2025, and South Burlington came in at No. 4.
To compile the list, WalletHub compared 182 cities — including the 150 most populated U.S. cities, plus at least two of the most populated cities in each state.
“It’s important to look at more than just the number of jobs available or the unemployment rate when determining the best place to find employment,” a WalletHub analyst said.
Here’s why South Burlington took one of the top spots.
Why is South Burlington one of the best cities for jobs?
South Burlington ranked high across the two key metrics WalletHub used to determine the best cities for jobs: job market and socioeconomics. The city ranked No. 4 and No. 5 for the metrics, respectively.
The job market metric included categories like job opportunities, employment growth and monthly starting salary. The socioeconomics rank included categories median annual income and commute time.
Each city was ranked based on the metrics out of a possible total of 100 points. South Burlington earned a score of 65.33.
Meanwhile, Burlington came in lower on the list, at No. 32.
