One of the best travel credit cards has an increased sign-up bonus worth nearly $1,000 for flights, hotels, and more — but it’s ending in just a few days.
Through Monday, Sep. 9, the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card is offering 75,000 bonus miles and a $250 Capital One Travel credit upon spending $4,000 within the first three months of account opening. There’s a $95 annual fee, which will be charged to your statement within the first billing cycle, but this ongoing cost can be justified with the long list of perks.
To start, Capital One miles offer a range of flexible travel redemption options, making this card an easy favorite. It’s possible to use miles through the issuer’s travel portal to book flights, hotels, and rental cars, or to apply miles as a statement credit toward eligible travel purchases made with the card within 90 days. Each Capital One mile is valued at one cent, meaning 75,000 miles are worth $750 for travel expenses.
Alternatively, Capital One miles can be transferred to over 15 airline and hotel loyalty programs. In most cases, miles transfer at a 1:1 ratio and can be booked for award travel on popular loyalty programs like British Airways Executive Club or Air France-KLM Flying Blue.
As part of the sign-up bonus, the $250 travel credit can be used to offset even more travel costs. While it’s only valid for one year, cardholders can easily redeem this credit at checkout on the Capital One travel portal.
“Capital One Travel is a travel portal that makes it easy for Capital One cardholders to book travel and where they can earn or redeem rewards on trips,” the issuer shared in a statement. “We designed the UI/UX to solve customers’ pain points with traditional booking platforms and used quality tech to add new, useful features, including price prediction, price alerts, and price drop protection.”
The Capital One Venture card is also a go-to favorite since it earns 5x miles on hotels, vacation rentals, and rental cars on Capital One Travel and 2x miles on all other purchases and reimburses the application fee for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck every four years, among other benefits.
