Summer is on its last legs, even in Southern California, where the summer season can extend deep into October. That means that the start of the new season for the Los Angeles Lakers is just around the corner.
While they haven’t made any game-changing additions to their roster, fans will likely be intrigued to watch first-round draft pick Dalton Knecht, as well as second-round selection Bronny James, the son of LeBron James. Of course, the elder James and fellow superstar Anthony Davis always attract tons of eyeballs regardless of the circumstances.
The date for the Lakers’ Media Day, which marks the official start of the new season, has been set. It will take place on Monday, Sept. 30, which is less than two weeks from now.
The first practice of training camp will be held the following day, and the team’s first preseason game will be played just three days afterward. Opening night for the 2024-25 regular season is on Oct. 22, and on that evening, Los Angeles will host the Minnesota Timberwolves.
