EXCLUSIVE: Here’s first footage of coming-of-age drama The Book Of Jobs, which debuted this past weekend at the Mill Valley Film Festival in the U.S.
Bay Area native Kayci Lacob directed the semi-auto-biographical debut. The film stars Abigail Donaghy (Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Lola Flanery (The 100), Judy Greer (Jurassic World), Rich Sommer (Mad Men), Utkarsh Ambudkar (Brittany Runs A Marathon), and Victoria Pedretti (You).
Pic follows a girl growing up in Silicon Valley in the shadow of Steve Jobs’ triumphant return to Apple, and his outsized influence on her imagination, ambitions and relationships. Through all of life’s milestones, she obsessively uses Jobs as a north star to block out negative emotions and focus only on achievement. When the news of Job’s untimely death reaches Claudia, her dissociation is shown for what it really is, and she is forced to face a future all her own.
The film is produced by Bull’s Eye Pictures’ Tom Nunan (Crash) and executive-produced by Sara E. White (The Idol), Talia Bella and Randy Wayne of Rebellium Films (Cottonmouth) and Matthew Shreder of Concourse Media (Chief of Station).
Concourse represents worldwide rights and will be presenting the film to domestic and international distributors at the upcoming AFM.
