A new study by Smartproxy analyzed the cost of fashion items over a six-week period across major retailers to find price trends. It found that clothing prices tend to fluctuate more than products in other categories.
“As automated price adjustment tools become increasingly common across various e-commerce platforms, the fashion industry stands out as a frontrunner, leveraging dynamic pricing strategies with remarkable sophistication,” said Vaidotas Juknys, head of commerce at Smartproxy, in a press release.
“This sector has consistently demonstrated its ability to adapt pricing in real-time, responding to fluctuations in demand, inventory levels and seasonal trends more effectively than many other industries,” he continued. “According to our research, the fashion industry demonstrates up to 76% higher dynamic pricing scores than electronics, beauty or multi-category industries.”
Based on the analysis, these are the best days — and worst days — to shop for clothes online.
The Smartproxy study found that clothing prices were the lowest on Saturday, with the best prices available during the early morning hours. You can also find low prices on Friday afternoon.
