ARLINGTON, Texas — Two of the hottest teams in college football battle in the Cotton Bowl as 5-seed Texas meets 8-seed Ohio State with a trip to the College Football Playoff National Championship on the line. The Buckeyes have turned a corner since the postseason began and won their first two games by a combined 45 points, including a 41-21 rout of 1-seed Oregon in the Rose Bowl. The Longhorns outlasted 4-seed Arizona State in double-overtime in the Peach Bowl and are the only SEC team remaining in the field as a first-year member. The winner of the game will play 7-seed Notre Dame on Monday, Jan. 20 in Atlanta.
