Texas A&M football recruiting: Husan Longstreet, a 5-star QB, decommits from Aggies

The Texas A&M football program lost a big-time recruit Sunday when five-star quarterback Husan Longstreet from Corona, California, committed to the USC Trojans, flipping from his previous commitment to the Aggies.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound 2025 prospect initially committed to A&M in April. He appeared to change his mind following a visit to the Trojans’ campus earlier this month. Longstreet opted to stay in his home state instead, per a social post this weekend.

As a junior at Centennial High School, Longstreet threw for 3,013 yards and 24 touchdowns while rushing for 645 yards. He was named a top performer at the Elite 11 Finals and now looks to take his talents to the Trojans with his latest decision.

It’s a blow to the Aggies 2025 recruiting class, which 247 Sports ranks 10th in the country as of Sunday. A&M does not have a quarterback committed after Longstreet’s change of plans.

A&M doesn’t currently have a five-star commit in the class but is anchored by 12 four-star recruits, including Texas defensive lineman DJ Sanders and Florida safety Rashad Johnson.

The Aggies are fresh off a sound win over New Mexico State and now head to Auburn (4-6, 1-5) to take on the Tigers in Week 13.
