It’s only Week 2, and yet the number of NFL teams that have yet to lose during the 2024 season is quickly dwindling. For the Seattle Seahawks, the first season under Mike Macdonald has so far been a success, with the team defeating the Denver Broncos in the opener before going on the road to defeat the New England Patriots.
When Sunday Night Football arrives, the Chicago Bears and the Houston Texans will be battling for the right to remain undefeated, with each team entering the game 1-0 on the year.
In addition, both teams enter the game looking for yet another chance for their young quarterbacks to show what they can do. For the Bears it is the number one overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Caleb Williams, running Shane Waldron’s offense, while for the Texans it is the second overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, C.J. Stroud at the helm.
Houston enters the contest as 5.5 point favorites over Chicago at FanDuel Sportsbook, which seems reasonable given the very limited offensive production generated by the Bears in Week 1. The Texans, meanwhile, enter the game appearing to have not missed a beat after finishing the 2023 season strong, and covering the spread seems likely for the Texans. However, given the struggle of Shane Waldron’s group to put points on the board in Week 1, coming in under the 44.5 over/under appears the better bet.
And now it’s on to the game, which can be watched at 8:20 ET/5:20 PT on NBC or streamed on NFL+ or Peacock.
