Is another love story brewing on the courts? The whispers started quietly, but after Sunday’s match, they have grown louder. As Carlos Alcaraz took over Novak Djokovic at the All England Club on Sunday, Emma Raducanu was keenly watching the match from the stands. Dressed in all black, the British tennis sensation seemed to be completely engrossed in the match, and this caught the attention of tennis fanatics!
An X user shared Raducanu’s picture with a “Challenger” context, captioning it, “Welcome back Tashi Duncan and Art Donaldson.” And with that, fans started to draw connections between her presence and the Spaniard’s victory. Some fans even credited Raducanu for Alcaraz’s win against Novak Djokovic.
Interestingly, both Alcaraz and Raducanu have shown a good bond with each other. Earlier this month, she also revealed that her road to the Wimbledon fourth round was highly inspired by Carlos Alcaraz. “The last couple matches I’ve been following Carlos, and it’s just good to watch before the match. And sometimes in certain moments you in a way try to emulate certain shots or whatever.”

Do you think Emma Raducanu’s presence influenced Carlos Alcaraz’s victory?
Alcaraz had also shared similar statements about Raducanu. When the Brit decided to withdraw from the mixed doubles with Andy Murray, she drew a lot of flak because it was Murray’s final Wimbledon. Amidst the backlashes, she found support from Alcaraz, who said, “She had her reasons to do it.”
Owing to these circumstances, many fans believe there is something else brewing between the two players. Here’s what X users are saying:
As soon as the tweet went viral, several fans took to their X accounts and expressed their delight. Many drew connections and assumed that Alcaraz dominated Novak Djokovic 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 for Raducanu. Taking to X, one user wrote, “No wonder Carlos cooked Djokovic in straight sets 💀”
Although the third set posed some challenges for the 21-year-old, he did not let Djokovic return to the match and ensured a massive victory. But the Serbian deserves some credit as well. On June 5, he underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee. And so, he played against Alcaraz just weeks after his surgery.
Another user claimed, “He saw her in the crowd and knew he had to lock in.” This is not the first time when such rumors have hit the tennis corridors. In May last year, when Raducanu shared a picture of herself with her then-rumored boyfriend, tennis fans took to social media platforms to express that the photo might break Alcaraz’s heart.

In fact, many believe that the Spaniard has a crush on Raducanu and the two can soon date. Adding to the speculations, another user highlighted, “A new couple perhaps 🫣.”
Another user joined the fray to equate Alcaraz with Swiss Maestro Roger Federer, whose dominance on the grass courts remains unmatched to this day. “@carlosalcaraz saw @EmmaRaducanu in the audience box and decided to become prime Roger at Wimbledon. #Wimbledon.”
Roger Federer won five Wimbledon titles consecutively between 2003 and 2007. Out of the 8 titles he has on this surface, three have come in straight sets. Alcaraz, too, achieved one straight-set victory in the finals, and this is his second consecutive victory. Interestingly, he has joined Federer as the only man to win their first four Grand Slam finals.

“Carlos saw Emma and was like f**k the Big 3 it’s just big me 🤣🤣🤣,” referencing a line from Kendrick Lamar’s feature in the song ‘Like That’. Alcaraz has become the youngest among the four to win his first four grand slam titles at 21 years of age. Roger Federer took two years more than him as he accomplished the task when he was 23. For Rafael Nadal, it took two defeats in the finals, and he had to wait till he was 22 to win four Grand Slam titles. Similarly, Djokovic could achieve this after he turned 24.
But coming back to Raducanu and Alcaraz, the two have never confirmed dating each other. So, fans could be jumping to conclusions here. What do you think?
