Step onto this scale, and watch your personal fitness journey unfold.
SISU Fit, a downtown boutique fitness studio that opened last fall at Cherapa Place, is offering members the chance to gauge and track their progress using an InBody body composition scanner.
“This is a world-renowned tool that gives real insights into your muscle mass, fat percentage and hydration level, and even your metabolic health,” said Chris Mello, co-owner of SISU Fit.
“It goes beyond a traditional scale to do a deep dive into what’s going on inside your body. It’s extremely accurate and renowned in the health and fitness industry, to the point that it’s medical grade so even hospitals use it.”
The InBody scan allows SISU coaches “to give clients an exact prescription on what to do without guessing,” Mello said. “And it gives the client context as to what they need to be doing to start to make a change.”
Here’s a sample analysis:
At the beginning of the year, SISU offered a six-week program for members, beginning with an InBody scan, then followed up with customized coaching.
“We use a coaching app that’s part of our Black membership, and we create a program to match their body and goals so they can track as they go,” Mello said.
Six weeks later, they step on the scale again.
Almost 70 people signed up to participate at the start of the year.
“We’re beginning to bring people in at that six-week mark now, and we’ve seen some amazing results,” Mello said. “We’ve had someone gain more than 3 pounds of muscle mass and someone else lose 10 pounds of body fat, so with two different people we’ve seen different but equally very positive results. A lot of numbers have been moving in the right direction, which is exciting for our trainers as well as our clients because that’s why they’re doing this type of work — to help people see results.”
SISU Fit offers a variety of memberships, including personal training and nutrition consultation. The gym is open 24 hours a day and includes a pod-like system connecting members with more than 14,000 digital workouts, plus an on-site sauna.
“It’s going really well,” Mello said. “We serve different niches, from downtown residents and companies here to the public and our longtime clients, but we’ve been establishing a brand with a very big-city feel and a downtown vibe, and we’ve seen a steady increase in usage.”
For the remainder of February, take advantage of a two-week Stay Fit InBody promotion. For $49 enjoy:
“We’ll give you a tour and show you the studio, and then we’ll talk through different membership options,” Mello said. “You can be led by a trainer, you can work out on your own whenever it works for you, including with virtual classes, or you can choose a hybrid option with an app that has your personalized training plan as a way to meet in the middle.”
