SALADO, Texas (KWTX) – The Texas Department of Public Safety Officers’ Association is holding their first golf tournament fundraiser in Salado on Friday.
The tournament, which is held at Mill Creek Golf Club is the first of a day full of events to raise funds for the association.
The tournament kicks off at 10 a.m., complete with opening ceremonies, a golf ball drop and a shotgun start.
After the tournament, they’ll take the festivities to Johnny’s Steaks and Bar-Be-Cue in Salado.
At the restaurant, they’ll have a barbecue dinner, as well as a raffle for custom DPS gear, auctions, and a concert featuring country music artist Matt Castillo.
Tickets for the benefit are still available, and can be purchased here.
The proceeds from both the benefit and the golf tournament go back to the Texas DPSOA, who uses the funds to help the families of officers in need.
