FORT WORTH – TCU looked the part of a contender for the NCAA Championships in its final 18 holes of 2024.
 
Staring down a field with seven top-40 teams, the Horned Frogs took a solo fourth at the inaugural Charles Schwab Women’s Collegiate at Ridglea Country Club.
 
TCU carded a three-over 287 in Tuesday’s final round en route to a 54-hole score of 866 (+14). 
 
The Horned Frogs began the morning in sixth and used an even-par back nine to ascend past No. 21 Oklahoma State and No. 33 Kentucky. TCU finished two strokes shy of SMU for third. Wake Forest, No. 15 nationally, won the tournament at five-over 857.
 
The result firmly puts TCU in contention to crack the top-20 of the final Scoreboard team rankings of the year. TCU finished no worse than sixth in each of its five fall events. Tuesday’s showing signified the Frogs’ fourth straight top-four team finish, a streak that includes team titles at the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational and Jim West Challenge.
 
TCU has now recorded its low round score in the final round in 12 of its last 15 events dating back to the 2023-24 campaign.
 
A season-high five top-20’s fueled TCU’s rise on moving day. All five players in the Horned Frogs’ lineup birdied 18 to preserve a three-stroke advantage over the Cowgirls for fourth
 
Gracie McGovern was the Horned Frogs’ top performer. Competing as an individual, McGovern shot a two-under 69 and vaulted eight spots into a tie for 10^th (+1, 214). McGovern notched a collegiate low-54 personal best and her first career top-10. One of two TCU freshman, she led the 60-player field in par-3 scoring (2.91, -1). 
 
Meagan Winans tied for 13^th at a four-over (217). She was par-or-better on 16 of 18 holes on Tuesday. Winans was a tournament best minus-six (4.33) on par-5’s. She entrenched herself within the top quarter of the leaderboard via a one-under 70 in round one. The senior finished as TCU’s top performer for the second time in 2024-25 and collected her third top-15.
 
Kirstin Angosta, Camille Min-Gaultier and Sofia Barroso Sá all shot an even-par 71 in round three and tied for 17^th (+5, 218). 
 
Angosta, TCU’s low tournament leader for the season, was bogey-free on the back nine and boosted her final scorecard with birdies on nine, 12 and 18.
 
Min-Gaultier was one-under over her final 11 holes. She has recorded three consecutive top-20’s and finished no lower than 23^rd at the midway point of her freshman campaign.
 
Barroso Sá collected 11 birdies over her two-day stay in Ridglea Hills, including three over her final five holes
 
Charlotte Cattaneo jumped four spots into a solo 55^th to round out TCU’s seven-player contingent. She shot a five-over 76 in round three.
