Tallon Griekspoor endured a roller-coaster season, culminating in firing the Netherlands into the Davis Cup final.
Italy ultimately beat the Netherlands in the Davis Cup final in Malaga, but Griekspoor helped make history after his semi-final win over Jan-Lennard Struff.
The Netherlands reached a first Davis Cup final in its 104-year history at the tournament, defeating Germany 2-0.
He did lose out to Carlos Alcaraz in the quarter-finals, but his side still managed an unforgettable victory over Spain.
Griekspoor’s teammate Botic van de Zandschulp was the player to beat Rafael Nadal in his last-ever match, much to the disappointment of the home crowd.
Two-time ATP Tour winner Griekspoor finished his season with a 33-30 win-loss record, occupying 40th in the world rankings.
He could, however, have undoubtedly improved upon those statistics if more luck had gone his way in 2024.

The 28-year-old hilariously took to X to sarcastically write “Fun year..” after seeing his top-10 meetings this season.
Griekspoor played nine matches against top-three players, more than any other player, along with 11 matches against top-five players and 17 matches against top-10 players.
He does, of course, need to beat the best to become the best, with such exciting challenges on court surely welcomed with open arms.
At the same time, however, ranking points and prize money are much easier to come by when avoiding the best players in the world.

He fittingly finished his season with a Davis Cup tie against world number one Jannik Sinner, with the Italian coming out on top to seal back-to-back titles for his nation.
Fortunately, Griekspoor has managed to see the funny side of his challenging season, with another exciting campaign now definitely on the cards for him in 2025.
It was indeed Sinner who led the way for the most matches against top-10 players in 2024, with his 23 followed by the 21 of Taylor Fritz.
