Earlier this week, the Boston Celtics received their 2024 NBA Championship rings and raised their 18th franchise championship banner at TD Garden at their season opener. The championship ring was crafted and designed by Jason of Beverly Hills and features over 15 carats of diamonds.
CEO Jason of Beverly Hills, Jason Arasheben said after the ring ceremony on Tuesday, “It is truly a piece of history and it tells the story of the entire organization. The city, the season, the playoffs – everything you could imagine. This is a Boston ring through and through.” The details of the ring centers around the number “18,” as this is the Celtics’ 18th championship banner. The ring consists of 18 emerald cut diamonds on the outer bezel. 84 point diamonds are on the side bezel, representing the Celtics’ playoff winning percentage as well as ther 16-3 run in the postseason. On the inner bezel are 16 emerald cut diamonds which coincide with the number of playoff wins Boston had in 2024. The playoff series results are also etched on the inside of the shank of the ring.
30 points of diamonds on the “World” on the face of the ring represent the total number of seasons the Celtics played at TD Garden and it complements the 80 white diamond used in the word “Champions” to honor the team’s combined 80 wins. The Garden’s famous parquet floor is etched on both sides of the rings and Boston’s 80-21 record is also on side of the ring. The player side of the ring sees the player’s name and number and includes two more diamonds that flank the name and represent the total championships under Boston’s current ownership. Last year’s Celtics’ mantra, “Whatever It Takes” is also included on the right side.
Each of the rings feature two hidden elements that are only seen when the top is removed. There is a piece of the parquet floor from the Graden on the inside of the top of the ring, which has the date and score of the team’s championship-clinching win over the Mavs while the other side has a championship banner and the jersey number of each player on the team. The rings also feature an NFC chip installed so players can put their phone against the wood parquet to play a video of how the ring was made.
