Syracuse, N.Y. — The Syracuse basketball team takes on the Boston College Eagles at 3:15 p.m., Saturday in the JMA Wireless Dome.

First half

3:06 remaining: Syracuse 28, Boston College 27

Petar Majstorovic hits his defender with a series of post moves before stepping through and dropping a dime to Lampkin for the score.

Bell drives to the rim and hits the contested layup while falling backwards.

Starling follows that up with a up-and-under finish for his first points of the contest.

Moore hit his third three of the game, now up to 11 points.

7:41 remaining: Syracuse 19, Boston College 18

Kyle Cuffe Jr. gets a layup in transition, ending an over five minute scoring drought for Syracuse.

Chris Bell, who’s been coming off the bench as of late, hits his first three of the contest in the corner.

Naheem McLeod, who had a season-high 10 points last time out, crashes the offensive board and puts the ball up for the score.

11:42 remaining: Boston College 16, Syracuse 12

Since the last time out, the Orange have slowed down offensively, missing its last seven shots.

15:09 remaining: Syracuse 12, Boston College 8

To open the contest, Elijah Moore takes a three from a few steps beyond the arc with the shot clock expiring and knocks it down.

Next play down, the Orange find Moore on the perimeter once again for his second three of the game in just as many attempts.

Three for three. Moore takes the handoff from Eddie Lampkin and finishes with the inside hand layup.

Lampkin decides to do it himself and drives to the basket and finishes.

Off a Starling miss, Lampkin corrals the offensive rebound despite three Eagles defenders in the area. He goes back up and finishes with the contact.

Pregame

Syracuse (10-13, 4-8 ACC) looks to finish their two-game home stand with a win against Boston College (10-12, 2-9 ACC).

The Orange holds a decisive edge in the all-time series against the Eagles with a 59-27 record. Syracuse added to that record less than a month ago when they defeated Boston College on the road in a 79-71 win. J.J. Starling led the way for SU with a team-high 26 points.

When playing at the Dome in this matchup, Syracuse almost always comes out on top. SU is 26-6 in those games, including winning the last ten straight.

The last game for the Orange was an 83-54 loss against No.2 ranked Duke. Starling and Jyare Davis both had 12 points to lead all Syracuse scorers. Naheem McLeod, who plays sparingly, saw the floor against the Blue Devils and made the most of it with a season-high 10 points.

Boston College’s last game ended in similar fashion as they were defeated in a 84-58 loss against Louisville. Donald Hand Jr. led the way for the Eagles with 19 points. He’s been the leading scorer for the squad all year long, averaging 15.7 points a night.

One Thing To Keep An Eye On: Who Wants It More?

At this point in the season, it’s clear that both teams more than likely will not be playing in the NCAA Tournament come March. The only possible chance is if they were to get extremely hot at the right time and win the ACC Tournament.

That situation is also unlikely considering the latest losses for both of these teams against squads that will be contending for that automatic tourney bid. With all that being said, this game is about who between the Orange and the Eagles want it more.

They are evenly matched and has a similar record. They also are both coming off big losses. Whoever comes out on top will be the team that leaves it all out there.
