La Liga giants Barcelona are ready to part ways with a member of the club’s defensive ranks.
That’s according to Relevo, who point towards Andreas Christensen as the player in question.
Stopper Christensen has for his part of course endured a difficult campaign to date, in Catalunya’s capital.
Owing to an ongoing tendinitis problem in his Achilles, the Danish international has managed to take to the pitch on just a solitary occasion, all the way back in August against Valencia.
Christensen, nevertheless, remains widely considered an important member of the first-team setup in Barcelona, having been expected to play an important role under the watch of Hansi Flick upon his return to fitness.
In turn, it will no doubt come as a surprise to those of a Blaugrana persuasion to hear that, in fact, the former Chelsea man has recently been identified by the Camp Nou brass as altogether dispensable.
As per a report from transfer insider Matteo Moretto of Relevo:
‘There is one player who is practically out of Barcelona’s future plans: Andreas Christensen. The Danish defender has a contract until June 2026 and is on the way out.’
It remains to be seen whether as much is forthcoming in January or the summer, amid interest on the part of a number of Premier League clubs in his signature.
