Yesterday’s loss was a tough one to take.

The Kentucky Wildcats trailed Vanderbilt 41-27 at halftime and looked like the game could be headed for a blowout.

But the Cats came out on fire in the second half, hitting 8 of 9 field goals to start and took the lead, even building a 58-51 lead with about 8:30 remaining left in the game.

From there, things went south for the Wildcats, as the turnover issue from the first half reared its ugly head again, and Kentucky struggled to get stops down the stretch.

Now, with back-to-back losses, things aren’t looking as bright for this Kentucky team. The Cats are 3-3 in SEC play and have one of their toughest matchups of the season ahead, a Tuesday evening trip to Knoxville for a matchup with the Volunteers.

Tennessee will likely be favored in that game, and barring an upset, the Cats will head into Saturday’s showdown against John Calipari’s Arkansas Razorbacks riding a three-game losing streak and a sub-.500 record in conference play.

Not to mention, the Cats will travel to Ole Miss for a matchup against a top-25 Rebels team the following Tuesday.

With that schedule up ahead and another loss where Kentucky fell apart down the stretch, along with questions about Andrew Carr’s health, is there cause for concern among the BBN about this team?

There are certainly some concerning trends we’ve seen with this team, but we’ve also witnessed how good this team can be and how they can go toe-to-toe with just about anyone.

It’s probably not time for a full-blown panic, but yesterday’s loss really stings, and this team has some things to figure out moving forward.
