Per ESPN, Steve Belichick will coach his last game as Washington’s defensive coordinator in the Huskies’ Sun Bowl matchup against Louisville on New Year’s Eve. His $1.2 million buyout at Washington will expire after the game, and Belichick is expected to formalize an agreement with UNC soon after. Washington has already spoken with candidates to replace Belichick, according to the report.

Steve Belichick spent 12 seasons on his dad’s staff with the Patriots in multiple roles from 2012-2023. He spent his final four seasons calling plays for New England’s defense while serving as a linebackers coach.
