The West Ottawa boys tennis team finished 16th at the Division 1 state tournament on Friday and Saturday.
The Panthers scored three points. Bloomfield Hills won the state title with 35 points.
West Ottawa’s Luke Koschmann had a bye at No. 4 singles, then defeated Ann Arbor Skyline’s Tanner Schultz in the second round, 6-1, 6-2. Koschmann then lost to the second-seeded Brady Winston of Bloomfield Hills 6-3, 6-0 in the quarterfinals.

At No. 3 doubles, West Ottawa’s Brylan McConnell and Lincoln Taylor beat Ann Arbor Pioneer 6-1, 5-7, 10-7 in the first round before falling to Troy.
The rest of the Panthers lineup lost their first match, either in the first round or in the second round after a bye.
Division 3 finals for Schanski
Zeeland East’s Brady Schanski had a bye and then lost a three-setter to Petoskey’s Elijah Rindfusz 4-6, 6-2, 10-7 in Division 3’s state tournament on Friday.
HC golfer takes 52nd
Holland Christian’s Elizabeth Van Dusseldorp finished 52nd at the Division 3 state golf tournament on Friday and Saturday.
She shot a 94 in the first round and a 100 in the second round.
“The greens were better (in the second round) and she had some good pars near the end,” Holland Christian coach Libby Berens Nienhuis said. “I am so proud of her for getting to state.”
