Now, the senior has his future destination decided, committing on Thursday to play at Millersville with an announcement on X, formerly Twitter.
“After a long talk with my coach and family I’m blessed to announce my commitment to play football at Millersville @VILLEfb @SCoachLintal @Coachjcmorgan @SVSQB @chadshenne @DbeardDan,” Corkery tweeted.
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound senior QB says his recruiting class is ready to build.
“Millersville has something special that they’re building and it starts with my class and I wanted to be a part of it,” Corkery told PennLive.
Last year, Corkery threw for 3109 yards and 38 touchdowns to just 9 interceptions, leading State College to an 11-2 record.
“This process has been stressful but my family and coaches made it easier,” Corkery said. “I really liked every coach who recruited me, I built great connections with all of them.”
He chose Millersville over Franklin and Marshall, Cal U and Shippensburg, noting the financials and coaching staff as major factors, as he’ll battle for the starting quarterback spot there.
“I’m coming in with same mindset I go into every football season with,” Corkery said. “I’m ready to come compete and set the tone for the freshman and hopefully reach the starting spot.”
