SAN ANTONIO – A local institution is celebrating 35 years of inspiring youth, providing a safe and positive environment, and helping kids make positive choices.
On Sunday, the San Antonio Spurs Youth Basketball League (SYBL) hosted its 35th anniversary, celebrating the accomplishments of all current and former players.
The event was held at the George Gervin Academy and hosted basketball challenges, small-sided games, and a commemorative photo station, allowing past and present athletes within the program to celebrate.
SYBL Alumni will be honored as special guests at select Spurs games and community clinics.
Athletes currently enrolled in the program, as well as volunteer coaches, will receive complimentary tickets for certain home games throughout the season.
A limited-edition anniversary SYBL t-shirt will also be available at various Spurs events throughout the season, and a SYBL Court Takeover will see athletes play on the same court as the San Antonio Spurs later this season.
