Raging Torrent leads the list of last week’s fastest stakes winners after his win in the Grade 1 Malibu at Santa Anita on Thursday.
The 3-year-old son of Maximus Mischief earned a 104 Brisnet Speed Rating and a 104 Beyer Speed Figure for his 1 1/4-length win with Frankie Detorri riding.
Trained by Doug O’Neill, Raging Torrent bounced back in the Malibu from a seventh-place finish in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint. That loss broke a three-race winning streak, including a score over older foes including The Chosen Vron on Aug. 24 in the Pat O’Brien (G2).
