Kopion had the fastest speed figures of last week with her win in the Grade 2 Santa Monica at Santa Anita.
The 4-year-old Omaha Beach filly earned a 106 Brisnet Speed Rating and 110 Beyer Speed Figure for her 4 1/2-length win over three rivals. Trained by Richard Mandella and ridden by Antonio Fresu, Kopion is 2-for-2 since returning in December after an 8 1/2-month break.
In the three points preps for Kentucky Derby 2025, Burnham Square for a 101 Brisnet and 90 Beyer for his win in the Holy Bull (G3), Captain Cook got a 100 Brisnet and 94 Beyer for his Withers score, and Citizen Bull earned a 96 Brisnet and 98 Beyer for his win in the Robert B. Lewis (G3).
