Doha, Qatar: An air-conditioned tent will be raised at the Eastern Square of Souq Waqif to hold the local dates exhibition that will begin on July 23.
The organisers extended an invite to attend the popular exhibition that will be open from 4pm to 9pm every day until August 3, 2024.
The exhibition will see local and international farms showcasing a wide range of date varieties including Halawy, Mazafati, Medjool, and more.
Apart from the date varieties, the festival will also include an array of products derived from dates, including pastries, cakes, jams, juices, smoothies, pickles, and even ice-cream, all available for purchase at the venue.
The previous edition of the exhibition had seen the participation of over 100 date farms with over QR2 million worth of the fruit being sold.
The Dates Festival is a significant event in Doha that showcases the cultural, heritage, and economic importance of dates in Qatar. It is also an opportunity for visitors to learn about the various popular date varieties grown in the country.
