Frustration is mounting in Iowa City. It’s understandable after No. 19 Wisconsin made the plays late and topped Iowa, 74-63, on Saturday afternoon inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
With the win, the Badgers completed a season sweep of Iowa. The Hawkeyes have now lost six of their past seven games and fell to 13-10 (4-8 Big Ten).
While several key opportunities remain against No. 24 Maryland, No. 25 Illinois and No. 9 Michigan State, Iowa is running out of chances to enhance a potential at-large NCAA Tournament resume with just eight regular season games remaining.
Iowa was led by sophomore forward Pryce Sandfort’s 14 points, but Iowa couldn’t overcome Wisconsin senior guard John Tonje’s 22 points and the Badgers’ 12 made 3-pointers.
As Iowa continues its descent, here’s how social media reacted to the Wisconsin loss.
