Skip Bayless has never been afraid to toot his own horn. He was blowing it Friday, questioning why he hadn’t been invited to participate in the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game.
A number of celebrities mixed it up on the court Friday night at the Golden State Warriors’ Chase Center. Celebs such as Kai Cenat, Bayley, Druski, Masai Russell, Shaboozey and Terrell Owens were among those participating.
Bayless was not impressed.
“As I watch the embarrassing shooting in tonight’s Celebrity Game, I wonder again why I was never asked to participate. Scared of me? Haha.” the 73-year-old Bayless posted on X.
Bayless included a video clip showing him firing some three-point shots. He’s no Steph Curry, but he showed good form for someone who’s a contemporary of Julius Erving. (Now, whether he knocked down all those shots in a two-minute span, or it took him 30 minutes, we’ll never know).

Bayless’ post drew a mix of brutal, hilarious and “sure, why not” responses.

I would honestly love to see all of the analysts that shit on nba/nfl players to do a skills challenge or something that shows they can actually do what they claim is so easy. https://t.co/C8hmNggPx9

As it turns out, Bayless actually first posted that video in March 2024, before he challenged Cam Newton to a three-point contest.
Here I am in an old school “lab“ getting ready for my 3-point shooting competition with Cam Newton. I missed some, made some, heated up near the end of this session in a little gym I frequent near the Fox Studios here in LA. Thank you, Ernestine, for your expert camera work.… https://t.co/wcS2t0hIH4

Team Bonds, coached by Barry Bonds, defeated Team Rice (playing for Jerry Rice), 66-55 in the celebrity game. Some of the top players weren’t exactly household names. Rome Fynn, Emmy Award-winning actor from the CBS daytime drama The Bold and the Beautiful, scored a game-high 22 points. So maybe there is hope for Bayless appearing in a future game.
