For more than 25 years, the Shreveport Symphony Guild has worked with local merchants on discount shopping event, called the “Shoppers Card.”
The shopping window is from Oct. 16-26. Shoppers purchase a Shoppers Card for $50, and during that ten-day period, participating merchants give 20% discounts to those with a Shoppers Card, though some exclusions apply, depending on the merchant.
Most participating merchants sell the discount cards. Cards may also be purchased at the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra office or from many Symphony Guild members.
McCary’s Jewelers – which has participated since the beginning of this shopping event 27 years ago – is offering a chance at a $500 shopping spree in their store to anyone who purchases a Shoppers Card. The drawing for the winner will be held Nov. 7 at the business.
Here is the full list of participating merchants and businesses. The seven new ones added in 2024 are marked with an asterisk.
The Shreveport Symphony Guild raises funds to help the orchestra, most recently helping to purchase some new stage equipment. The Guild also owns and maintains the 150-year-old “Symphony House,” the first location in Shreveport listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
