ROCKVILLE, Md. – Sean Shen had a career day during the final round of the Howard/USF Intercollegiate Tuesday, shooting 65/5-under par at Manor Country Club.
Not only is it the lowest score the junior has posted over 18 holes, but it is also tied for the second-lowest round relative to par in program history. It is only one shot back of the program record of 6-under par, set by both Jake Katz at the 2010 Lafayette Invitational and Gray Potter at the 2015 Missouri Invitational. This is the seventh time in program history that a Binghamton golfer shot 5-under par. The last time it happened was in 2023, when Brandon Conner recorded that score at both the Cornell Fall Invitational and the Matthews Auto Collegiate Golf Invitational.
Shen posted five birdies throughout the day, along with an eagle on the ninth hole. Additionally, he recorded a par on every other hole except the 16th.
Meanwhile, both Harrison Blech and Ryan Millevoi finished tied for 37th. Both golfers shot 222/12-over par for the competition. On Tuesday, Blech shot 73/3-over par, while Millevoi shot 74/4-over par. Much like Shen, Millevoi also recorded an eagle on Tuesday. His happened on the fourth hole.
Overall, the Bearcats finished 10th at 301-296-299 = 896/56-over par. Princeton won the event at 828/12-under par. Riccardo Fantinelli won medalist honors for the Tigers at 200/10-under par.
Binghamton returns to Maryland for its next competition, which will be Navy’s invitational, called, “The Goat.” It will take place from Sept. 21-22 at Naval Academy Golf Club in Annapolis, Md.
