DESTIN, Fla. – The 14th-ranked Washington and Lee University women’s golf team is tied for 9th place after the first round of the Golfweek October Classic at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort.

The team recorded a score of +14 (302) on the par-72, 5,611-yard course.

• Pars: W&L recorded 57 pars, placing them tied for 5th among all teams.
• Birdies: The team registered 11 birdies in the first round.
• Individual Leaders: Zimo Li (Emory), Ava Bankston (Rhodes), and Natalia Fanucchi (Denison) are tied for 1st at two strokes under par (70).

W&L looks to improve their standing in the second round, set to begin tomorrow morning; the Blue and White will tee off at 7:45 a.m.
