Shedeur Sanders, a native of Cedar Hill, Texas, attended Jackson State out of high school as the highest-rated signee in JSU history. Per 247Sports, Daniels signed with Jackson State over a boatload of offers that included Alabama, Oregon and more. After two years at Jackson State, Sanders transferred to Colorado in 2023, following his dad and head coach Deion Sanders.
Sanders was a four-star quarterback at Trinity Christian School. He was a top-300 player in the country, a top-40 player in Texas and a top-30 quarterback in the class of 2021.
Sanders threw for 12,498 yards and 166 touchdowns in his high school career, with 3,702 yards and 43 touchdowns during his senior year. Also, during his senior year, Sanders led Trinity Christian to the 2020 TCAL National Championship. As a junior, he went 13-1 en route to a third straight Division II state title, one year after an undefeated 14-0 season. In total, Sanders finished with 47 career wins in high school, the 10th-most all-time at the prep level.
At Jackson State Sanders went 23-3 across two years, leading the Tigers to their first two Celebration Bowl berths in program history, while going undefeated against FCS competition in the regular season.
At Colorado, Sanders revived the Buffaloes from a one-win season before he got there to a 13-12 record across his final two seasons. In his final year, Sanders led Colorado to a nine-win season and a bowl game.
