After Shaedon Sharpe’s spectacular performance for the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday, the NBA sent a tweet with the five top verticals of the 2024-2025 season so far.
You knew Shaedon was going to make the list for his dunk of the season candidate against Wizards. You’ve all seen it by now: he took off somewhere in Maryland, cocked his arm back to comical angle, and dunked Justin Champagnie into oblivion. Measured at 41.1 inches, that insane dunk was good for number four on the NBA’s top five verticals list.
But what would you say if I told you that Sharpe made the list twice? Would you be surprised? Of course not. How about three times? You’re a Blazers fan, you’d buy that. Well, friends, you are thinking too small. Shaedon Sharpe has four of the five of the top verticals this season, including number one, a one-handed alley-oop finish against Jazz on December 6, measuring a staggering 45.1 inches.
The only human not named Shaedon Sharpe to make the list was Ja Morant, who took second place at 43.8 inches.
Shaedon’s next opportunity to make our jaws drop is Friday, February 28 at 4:30pm Pacific against the Brooklyn Nets.
