MARION COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – An investment is leading to new jobs in the Pee Dee.
Maxwood Furniture is expanding its distribution center on West Liberty Street in Marion through a $6 million investment, according to a news release from the governor’s office.
This expansion by the family-owned company will create 43 new jobs, the news release states.
Maxwood Furniture is headquartered in Charleston County and specializes in designing, manufacturing and distributing solid wood furniture products.
“When an existing company expands within our state, it is further proof that South Carolina is a place where companies can find sustained success,” Gov. Henry McMaster said. “We are pleased Maxwood Furniture continues to invest in Marion County and congratulate the company on this $6 million expansion.”
The expansion is expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2028.
Anyone interested in working for Maxwood Furniture can email their resumes to HR@maxwoodfurniture.com.
The Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved job development credits for the project and a $200,000 Rural Infrastructure Fund grant to Marion County to help with building improvements.
