RIYADH: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s (KSA) Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah and Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani co-chaired the meeting of the Executive Committee of the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council in Riyadh on Sunday, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
According to the SPA, Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan has delivered a speech welcoming Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman and his delegation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), extending wishes for a pleasant stay. He also emphasized that the meeting aimed to strengthen ties between the two countries, fulfill the aspirations of their leaderships and people, and advance their relations towards broader horizons, the SPA reported.
Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan also highlighted that the leaderships of both nations view their coordination council as a platform that frames activities across all sectors and enhances fraternal ties to achieve the respective visions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and Qatar for 2030, positively impacting the interests of both countries and their people.
In his address, Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman lauded the notable efforts of the committees from the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council in updating the initiatives list, creating new initiatives, and establishing measurable and actionable milestones, the SPA reported. He lauded the committee’s efforts to set a timeline for these milestones to align with the observations of the council’s secretariat general in the performance report for the first quarter of 2024.
He emphasized that this meeting marks a significant milestone in the development of Saudi-Qatari ties. It underscores the commitment of both nations to diligent work, investing in opportunities, exchanging viewpoints, as well as reviewing the council’s achievements and qualitative initiatives. He also expressed eagerness to accomplish as well as implement all planned activities.
According to the SPA, during the meeting, the secretariat general working team also reviewed the outputs of the committees associated with the coordination council and their teams from the previous period.
