Sam Querrey and John Isner have called for the ATP to make a change to their website.
The American duo have both retired from professional tennis and have 26 singles titles between them.
The pair also won two championships as a doubles team, and they claimed victory in Memphis and the Italian Open in 2010 and 2011 respectively.
The duo now spent time on their precast talking about the game, and they noticed something that they have urged the ATP Tour to change.
Sam Querrey and John Isner took to their ‘Nothing Major’ podcast to comment on something they spotted on the ATP Tour’s official website.
The pair mentioned that ATP still refers to indoor hard court events as being played on carpet, when there are no longer any tournaments played on that surface.
They made the comments on their podcast after Carlos Alcaraz won his first indoor title by claiming the Rotterdam Open crown.
“Can we talk about how even if you go on the ATP’s website they still call it carpet?,” Isner said.
Querrey responded: “It’s ridiculous. It hasn’t been on carpet for like 30 years!,” before Isner complained: “What is that? Is that like indoor hard? Get rid of that, ATP tennis!”
Alcaraz finally got his season up and running when he lifted the Rotterdam Open.
Alcaraz defeated Alex de Minaur 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 to claim his first title of the season and the first indoors.
Steve Johnson, who also features on the ‘Nothing Major’ podcast, shared his response to Alcaraz’s title win and credited his decision to stay in Europe and return to action.
“This was big for Carlos,” Johnson said. “Losing to Novak in the quarters of Australia was not what he wanted to do so it’s good for him to get on the map a little bit, get a win, because I think for him it’s just important to get to the end of the tournament and win.
“Carlos is an animal, his top end tennis is arguably the best in the world, it’s just his every day level fluctuates a bit too much. But not this week. It was a good choice for him to stay in Europe and win an indoor tournament.”
