CARBONDALE, Ill. (KFVS) – The SIU Saluki Men’s Basketball team recently visited the SIH Cancer Institute in Carbondale.
The players and coaches toured the facility on Tuesday, December 24.
They got to speak with employees who help care for cancer patients, getting a firsthand look at how their efforts with the Blackout Cancer fundraiser directly impacts those patients.
The team will be on the court on February 22, 2025, wearing special black Under Armour jerseys for the Salukis Blackout Cancer games. These games raise funds to assist local patients who are dealing with cancer and childhood diseases.
The Saluki Women’s Basketball team will also host their Blackout Cancer fundraiser on February 16, 2025.
There is still time to bid on a jersey ahead of the games to support the fundraiser.
