Week 16 of the 2024 NFL season concludes with a Monday night matchup between the New Orleans Saints and Green Bay Packers.
The Saints (5-9) are playing for pride, while the Packers (10-4) are playing for playoff positioning. While the Packers aren’t going to win the loaded NFC North, they’d love to have the top Wild Card spot heading into the postseason.

The Packers are big favorites in this game, coming off a 30-13 win over the Seattle Seahawks. Green Bay has won four of five games and has scored at least 30 points in the last four weeks.
On the flip side, the Saints are starting Spencer Rattler at quarterback. New Orleans has lost two of its last three games but will hope Rattler gives them some new life as they look toward next season.
Will the Saints get the big upset on Monday Night Football, or will the Packers continue their hot season with another dominant win? The staff at Newsweek Sports has their predictions.
Matt Levine: The Packers host the Saints on Monday night in an effort to keep pace atop the NFC Wild Card picture. Green Bay is favored in this game, and playing at the freezing tundra of Lambeau Field should help things. The Saints will be starting rookie Spencer Rattler in this game, and he has been very up and down this season. If the Packers get a lead early on, it could be a long night for New Orleans.
Prediction: Packers 34, Saints 17
Ricardo Sandoval: The Packers have won four of their last five games, and there should be no reason for them to not pick up another win on Monday Night Football. The Packers have had a great season, and if it weren’t for a loaded NFC North, they would be a top seed. Nonetheless, with a win tonight, they will clinch a playoff spot, and they will do so with ease against the injury-riddled Saints.
Prediction: Packers 30, Saints 14
Noah Camras: The Packers have been one of the league’s best teams this season, and they’ll dominate the lowly Saints on Monday Night Football. Jordan Love will shred the Saints’ defense as the Packers score 30 points for a fifth consecutive game.
Prediction: Packers 31, Saints 16
New Orleans Saints vs. Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football kicks off at 5:15 p.m. PT/8:15 p.m. ET. It will be broadcast on ESPN.
