Alvin Kamara and the New Orleans Saints have agreed to a two-year, $24.5 million contract extension, NFL Network reports.
The deal keeps Kamara under contract with the Saints through the 2026 season and prevents him from becoming a free agent next offseason. It includes $22 million in guaranteed money and $1.5 million in incentives that could raise the value to $26 million, according to the report.
Kamara, 29, has played his entire eight-season NFL career with the Saints. He made the Pro Bowl after each of his first five seasons, but hasn’t made one since 2021.
In seven games this season, Kamara has tallied 438 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 3.9 yards per carry along with 252 receiving yards and one touchdown on 34 receptions. He’s on pace to eclipse 1,600 yards from scrimmage over the course of the regular season.
The Saints raced out of the gates on offense this season with 91 combined points in victories over the Dallas Cowboys and Carolina Panthers in Weeks 1 and 2. New Orleans has since lost five straight and failed to score more than 13 points in three of those games.
The Saints will look to break their losing streak on the road Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers (4:05 p.m. ET, Fox).
