Sachin Tendulkar will return to on-field action in November 2024, as he’s set to play in the International Masters League (IML). The exact dates for the event are yet to be announced, but the T20 matches are set to take place in Mumbai, Lucknow, and Raipur. Teams from India, Australia, South Africa, England, the West Indies, and Sri Lanka will feature in the tournament.
The IML is a joint venture between Tendulkar and Sunil Gavaskar, who is also the league’s commissioner. The competition aims to renew old rivalries between the teams and pay tribute to the golden age of cricket.
“Cricket is still on the rise not only in India but in the entire world… The sportspersons themselves do not retire at heart,” Tendulkar said about the league.
Considered the greatest batter of all time, Tendulkar has played 200 Tests and 463 One-Day Internationals (ODI) for India, scoring over 34,000 runs between 1989 and 2013. He also has a terrific T20 record, having amassed 2,797 runs at a strike rate of 121.08.
