Roseburg Police cited two people Thursday for the theft of shopping carts.
An RPD report said at 7:30 a.m. a 41-year-old woman and 47-year-old man was contacted camped out near the north entrance of Sportsman’s Warehouse in the 2100 block of Northwest Stewart Parkway. The pair were reportedly in possession of two shopping carts, one belonging to Marshall’s and one to Walmart.
Both had previously been warned by RPD that if they were contacted off store property with shopping carts, they would be charged for theft. They were cited and released for second-degree theft, as the Walmart cart was valued at $425. The carts were taken to the parks department where they were placed with other carts belonging to the stores.
Both were trespassed from the store property that they were on.
